Let us manifest a new future of living. Architecture has the power to heal our society! NOW is the time to save the Nietzsche Memorial Hall in Weimar/ Germany and transform this unfinished Nazi building into a place that celebrates health, cultural diversity and technological innovations. 

Germany’s 20th century history, transitioning from an emperor to a democracy to the rise of a dictator and the Nazi party into WWII can all be linked to the city of Wiemar Germany. The Nietzsche Memorial Hall which is now available to purchase due to foreclosure encompasses this unique complex history and offers a shining keystone into the future. Such a unique building must not end up as a temple of consumption, office building or private residential complex. 

Following the multi-layered historical connections, the building points in a clear direction. What we are looking for is a sustainable building that is oriented towards the education and care of society, that is technologically visionary and that not only demands the dawn of a new age, but actively promotes it.

The first steps, plans and designs of Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, Henry van de Velde and Harry Graf Kessler for the construction of the place of worship, the unfinished grand building of the National Socialists and the partially fruitful legacy from the time of the broadcasting operation, are unique foundations for inscribing a new zeitgeist into the building with imaginative dedication.

What we are looking for now are new cycles that conserve resources, value what we already have and relieve the burden of our ecological system. The coexistence of different cultures becomes the guarantor of necessary changes; interdisciplinary cooperation becomes a global challenge.

The aim is to transform the former Nietzsche Memorial Hall into a multi-layered tableau that visualizes approaches to solutions, experiments with new perspectives and cooperates in institutional & cultural diversity. The different forms of democratic togetherness come together to research a future worth living for future generations and to initiate an aesthetic, ecological and economic turnaround. Individual excellence are sought that interlock and multiply in order to set new competences for the necessary change. Here, a historical insight is to merge with a social foresight in order for a generator of a habitable future of coming generations to emerge.
